Tania von Uslar-Gleichen took up position as Federal Foreign Office Director for International Law in 2022, after having served as Vice President of the German Foreign Intelligence Service since 2019. Before she worked as Director for Human Rights, International Development and Social Affairs, as Deputy Head of the German Embassy in London and in the European Policy Department of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin. Previous assignments also include four years in Brussels as member of the Policy Unit of the High Representative for the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy. She holds a law degree of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. She joined the German Federal Foreign Office in 1993.
